Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is standing water in my gutters normal? A: It is common for gutters to hold some water. One inch is not unusual and will evaporate. If there is more than 1", then you should either repitch the gutter or add another downspout. Q: My guttters are always plugged up with leaves. What can be done? A: Gutters must be clean in order to work properly. The best solution is to add a gutter screen to your present gutters. This will keep normal debris out of the gutters and allow them to work. Q: I have water running between my gutters and fascia. What is the problem? A: If the gutters are not plugged up with debris, then the roof may be cut a little short, not allowing water to reach the gutters. Adding a drip edge flashing under the roof and onto the gutter will solve this. This will stop the water from getting behind the gutters. Q: My house is not white or brown. Do you charge for different colors? A: We currently carry 21 different colors in stock. We do not charge extra for these. We can get several other colors, with a small upcharge due to shipping charges. Q: Do you recommend heat tape in gutters? A: Under some circumstances, heat tape can be beneficial. We suggest that you get a licensed electrician to install them. Heat tape can be a fire hazzard if not properly installed.
